Laptop ? ? ? Then you might have this issue. . .

If you are using a laptop for more than 1-2 year(s), you must have noticed that the battery life of your laptop or notebook has been degraded and the battery drains too fast; lasts for an hour or so :’(
What can be the reason ? ? ? What can YOU do to make it better ? ? ?

Well, there can be 2 reasons.
  1. Load.
  2. Age of the battery.
LOAD ? ? ?
  • Yes, its load on the processor (CPU).Simply, background programs and services.
  • I mean that older computers lean towards more softwares installed with time and therefore are more loaded with applications which keep running in background; thus increasing the CPU usage and ultimately- THE BATTERY usage.
AGE OF THE BATTERY ? ? ?
  • Recharge cycles of many batteries are limited. If you’re using a very old laptop, you’ll want to prevent the ‘memory effect’ – Keep the battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-Ion batteries (which most laptops have) which do not suffer from the memory effect.
Okay, now that you got to know the reasons behind a laptop’s poor battery life, you can guess the solution. If its case 2, we can do nothing about it :( we can’t improve the already degraded life of the battery.
and If its case 1- LOAD ?  How can you reduce it ?
  • Its simple; just uninstall all the unused programs.(this removes the unused services)
  • Reduce the start-up load by disabling the start-up items on every reboot. How? ? ? type msconfig in the run command, click on the startup tab as shown and disable the unnecessary startup items. (E.g. evernote, google update, java update, toolbars, onenote clipper…basically things that you don’t use immediately after the system start. you can distinguish easily. Don’t disable VIRUS PROTECTION and stuff ;-))       Click on apply. Check the option “Don’t show on every reboot” that appears. click REBOOT. YOU are DONE :)

What if you recently purchased the laptop? and what kinda care if taken gives the maximum battery life???
  • In future posts :) don worry its going be very soon.
Good day:)
